March and April is graduation month here in our country. It doesn't matter if you're in grade school, high school or college. It's tradition to do the graduation in these months mostly to avoid summer during school days. If I am not mistaken, in the past, there were a lot of issues during classes about students passing out due to high temperatures of April and May, which is the hottest driest months in the Philippines and that's why it became tradition to have the classes ends students before these months.
After all, Philippines is not a rich country and most public schools do not have air conditioning and sometimes, not even fans available and so that tradition started.
With that, I decided to make a suitable fan art of my three favorite cards, Kiara Lightbringer, Silvershield Bard and Tarsa,. I hope our lovely students there enjoy their upcoming vacation after getting their diplomas during these graduation months.March and April is graduation month here in our country. Step 1 Draft
I really like Kiara's curly hair so I decided to make her the main character instead of Tarsa. Also, I made her a bit older just because I like it more this way.
Step 2 Ink 1
Kiara's curly hair is really sexy. I also added some more details like the double blouse as it's more commonly seen from private schools. Kiara Lightbringer is an elite after all.
Step 3 Draft 2
After inking Kiara, I made a draft of Tarsa in the background. I made it look like she's photobombing or messing around in the photo which is a normal occurrence between friends in the Philippines.
When you try to make a good picture, your friend just always has to ruin it. I think it fits Tarsa's personality being a happy-go-lucky girl.
I thought that it's too plain so I decided to add Silvershield Bard to add more depth and fun.After inking Kiara, I made a draft of Tarsa in the background. I made it look like she's photobombing or messing around in the photo which is a normal occurrence between friends in the Philippines.

Step 4 Ink 2
Using the pencil guide, I added ink to finalize Tarsa and Silvershield Bard's position. The photobomb situation was really funny as it reminds me of my high school days during the graduation photo taking.
Step 5 Skin Colored
For the coloring process, since I'm doing traditional drawing, I'll be using these colored pencils again.

For the skin, I use a mix of peach and orange for the base and shadow.
Step 6 Hair Colored
I had a few issues here because the shadows for Silvershield Bard and Kiara Lightbringer's hair both uses orange, so, it'll overlap with the skin. To battle this, I used a light pressure orange then overlapped Gold to make a darker orange. For the highlights and base, I used a pressured yellow.
Tarsa's hair is composed of red, red violet and brown for highlights, base and shadow. I only have 24 colors to choose from so I need to be creative. It's good that it worked out well.
Since it kind of part of it, Silvershield Bard's Hat was also included. I used a combination of shades of violet to add volume on the said part
Step 7 Clothes Outer
I used blue, dark blue and light blue to add depth. Also, I was planning to copy Tarsa's original outfit...
... but decided to cancel as she would be out of place with a unique uniform. Also, Kiara Lightbringer is the main character for this art so having Tarsa her own uniform and Kiara doesn't feels out of place.I used blue, dark blue and light blue to add depth.
Step 8 Clothes Inner
For the inner blouse, I used gray and pencil (Mongol #2) for the shadows. The pencil was too dark even if I apply a lighter pressure so I decided to use gray as well.
Step 9 Miscellaneous
I consolidated in this step every little thing from Silvershield Bard's hat to the ribbons. Step 10 Eyes
For the last step, I used shades of blue for Kiara's eyes and Silvershield Bard's. Red and orange was used for Tarsa's eyes to finish the whole picture.
A long with the new phone I got last month, I also received a really interesting gift recently. Iwould even say that the timing can't be more perfect as this can somewhat alleviate some stress I've neem getting from breaking my laptop due to heat.
Along the new phone, I also got one of my wishlist and something I wanted (and forgot) since December of 2022. I think this piece of contraption did a great job and hoping it would last for a long time.
Trust me, this is 100% a cellphone stand. I think the end can be removed and changed if you want to use a mic instead. It's pure metal so it is stable. I really like this and I might start drawing more again in the near future.
