Seattle pinup, Alicia!

Hi, Steemit! I’ve been on a tear with work the last couple of days. Mornings have still been pretty chill, but by the afternoon, I’ve found my rhythm at @caffetto […which by the way has begun posting photos via @appics]. Part of my daily routine is playing Magic: The Gathering at the coffee shop. I play against a few different friends, but predominantly, @tarotbyfergus. He’s on vacation in Arkansas this week, which is a bummer for gaming, but really good for productivity. I’ve been filling that time with head-down Photoshop focus.

So, with that declaration, I do have new photography to share. In March, I took my first trip to Seattle. From the fall through most of the winter, money in the @kommienezuspadt was tight. Cryptocurrency had become an integrated part of my life throughout much of 2016 and 2017. It was a tough adjustment to try and forget I had any, especially for over a year. New cities seemed to be the only answer as my usual Los Angeles and New York trips were becoming saturated. Seattle was the answer.

Alicia is a darling Asian pinup that I’ve been following on social media for a few years. She was one of a few ladies that reached out and snapped up a booking in Seattle. I was really looking forward to working with her. As is often the case, you develop friendships through social networks and even beyond shooting together, I was just excited to meet her. We would be meeting and shooting at beautiful hotel in downtown Seattle. Alicia brought several outfits, some of which were designed by my longtime friend, @michelinepitt.

We really made use of the hotel, shooting guerrilla style throughout the lobby and restaurant. I can usually get away with that, as I don’t use flash, strobes or lighting equipment. Alicia was nervous, but it wasn’t long before she loosened up. I started pulling furniture over, like a giant 6’ wooden dresser, having her climb on top of it. Anything to make the shoot more interesting than “girl on bed”, or “girl against wall”. I’m endlessly trying to come up with complex lighting and environment arrangements with what I have available.

These are just the first few images with Alicia. I’m looking forward to getting to the rest of the images from this shoot. Taking breaks after shoots […whether intentional, or in my case almost every time, unintentional], gives time to look at the pictures with fresh eyes. There were a few areas I’d even forgotten about. I’ll be editing more of Alicia in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out for them. Thanks for reading.
