The NSW Coastline stretches from Sydney to Byron Bay, at a distance of 650 km and almost every part of this coastline is unique with it's own scenery to offer but nothing better then the section of coastline between Ballina and Byron Bay this whole section of coastline is about 40 km long and let me tell you around every corner you turn there will be an incredible and unique scenery for your eyes.
This spectacular section of coastline has the most beautiful white sand powdery beaches, amazing rainforest, and the most astonishing scenic headlands, it's a wonder it draws millions of tourists year by year.
I have lived in Byron Bay now for the past 5 years and have walked or jogged this whole 40 km stretch many of times over and over again and every time I walk it or jog it appears to me like I have seen it for the first time, these spectacular beaches and headland views never bore me no many how many times I have cruised along this coastline.
Every morning I am up at 6am getting ready for my 8 km jog before I head off to work unless it's hailing out there you will see me on my path from the Byron Bay beach through some rainforest leading out to the Cape Byron Lighthouse back down around the other side of the lighthouse and heading back home except on Sunday it's my rest day.
The walk from Ballina to Byron Bay or vice-versa has mostly concrete or wooden walkways and steps taking you all the way but you can go off the walkways and take yourself along the beaches then back up to the walkways again to get the views of the sparkling Pacific ocean and headlands.
You don't have to be some fitness fanatic or mountain climber to do this 40 km trail, I have seen many people breaking this up in sections like 10 km a day, take in all the beauty without rushing it, you can stay at the many nearby lodges by the ocean overnight enjoy the sounds of the crashing waves, sunset, and sunrise and continue on the next day a ideal way to enjoy every bit that nature has to offer.
There are tour group available that will take you on these walks explaining the history and so forth if you preferred, that way you wouldn't have to worry about falling of some cliff edge one of the best tour groups available that I would recommend is Coastal Tours Byron Bay.
From Ballina to Byron Bay onwards to Lennox Heads there is much to indulge with nature walks, beaches, lakes, rainforest and an abundance of lodges and restaurants you would never want to leave this area once you have step foot here and many have come back to stay.
