Good day guys. So finally we reached the Outeniqua Pass that elevates about 800 meters above sea level. The pass conects the ever so popular garden route to the klein karoo. Outeniqua pass was constructed between 1943 and 1951 to replace the old dirt road Montagu Pass.

It is breathtaking with a couple of save places to turn off the main road and enjoy the mountain and valley views. You can also see where the ocean meets the garden route and where the town of George lies on the foot of the Outeniqua Mountains.

So...get out of the car....stretch your legs and take in a deep breath of fresh mountain air. MAN!!! Nothing beats this.

Well now we only have about 60 km to get to Great Brak River, a picturesque coastal town in the garden route where we will be spending Christmas aswell as do a bit of exploring around the area before we take on the road towards the mother city, Cape Town.

There is a real ‘barefoot on the beach’ seafood restaurant just outside of Great Brak River that we will be exploring tonight. Just thinking of it makes me crazy hungry!

I’ll share our experience with all of you tomorrow.

Till then....

Cheers.
