For so many years I dreamed of visiting the Augrabies waterfalls in the Northern Cape. So December last year I got to do a trip passing the waterfalls and I made sure to organize a overnight stop at this breathtaking guest farm 20 km from the falls.
Now I must remind you that the Cape Province is going through a severe drought and that the Orangeriver water levels are very low. So I did not expect the biggest or best water show ever.
Augrabies which means ‘place of great noice’ in the local Khoikhoi language really comes true when you take the walking trail towards the falls with sounds of thundering water coming closer with each step you take.
The beauty of this place is unbelievably breathtaking. To sit there overlooking the gorge with the cool spray of the waterfall bringing relief from the scorching desert heat really is rewarding.
The ‘Place Of Great Noice’ where desert and water comes together to bring you a unbelievably great experience.
Thank you for reading guys!
Till tomorrow.
