Hello dear Steemians, finally I got better from the jetlag after the exciting week in Bangkok with other dear fellow Steemians who take part in #steemfest4. So I can start writing about the food hunt I did and of course also a little story about our 4th annual steemit community party later on.
This time I am presenting some delicacies which are still considered bizarre to most people but actually have a great potential to be the future food for human beings. My husband always told me that they are huge protein resources which do not require much effort and expense to produce.
On the other hand, consuming them as food may help solving the farming problems with pest without using any poisonous substances nor methods which are harmful for the environment.
Well... Speaking about logic I do agree with his opinion, but.... I think I am still not adventurous enough to try some 😜😅. Although grilled insects are actually not only special delicacies in Thailand but quite common to find in some part of Indonesia as well, so it's not kind of new things for me.
I have once tried some when I was a child.
I don't know the species name but those insects love to swarm around the lamps. My family had loved collecting them in rainy season and sautéed the insects with many green chilis, soy sauce, onions, garlic and a bit of salt.
I think it was quite delicious 😋, unfortunately I got allergy.
There is of course a possibility that I actually wasn't allergic to the insects, rather it's caused by the poisonous substance that the insects have taken.
Indonesians tend to use plenty amount and various kind of pesticides, and such massive uses of pesticides is often done even in a small block of farming field.

This could be a plausible explanation at least for me, because I am sometimes allergic to shrimp and austern too... but strangely it doesn't always happen so that it never really stops me from eating them.
We all know that the original habitat of those small creatures is often exposed to many pollutants too.
My little brother was very fond of catching scorpions and eating them as a child. It was a very shocking experience when we first caught him red handed doing it... He was not even 5 years old at that moment 🙈😲😲.
I honestly still wonder how he didn't get stung and poisoned by the scorpions 😝. It seems that he somehow instinctively knew how to take off the dangerous part of the scorpions.
After a while we were accustomed to his bizarre habit and didn't worry too much anymore LOL.
However his strange habit of eating scorpions were gone by itself after he grew up.
By the way I didn't buy some for jaki01@jaki01 although I know that he wants to try some. The reason is because it's only available at street vendors and he is afraid of getting a massive stomach problems.
If he is sick it always last for weeks so he just doesn't want to risk it anymore now. Previously he always spoiled nearly half part of our long vacations because of it.

Theoretically we can still risk it at the end of the vacation since we're going back home anyway, however we can't afford to do it this time because he needs to get back to work directly after the trip.
There is no opportunity to have a slow recovery at home, so.. better to not risk it.
Ok dear Steemians.. this is my first traveling report in China Town, Bangkok. I will see you again soon with the next stories in Bangkok. 😉
Thanks in advance for the upvotes.
