Hirakud Dam
Hirakud Dam is built across the MAHANADI River in the State of Odisha in India
Hirakud is the longest Dam in the Wolrd with whopping 27 kilometers in length. The Dam was built in 1957. The Dam is also of Historical importance, it was the first multi purpose River Valley Project undertaken by India post independence.
