I went on a bike ride to Mount Diablo last. Mount Diablo is located east of the San Francisco Bay Area. The entire trip took about 6 hours, and consisted of 60km of cycling. The attitude difference from the entrance to the mountain and its peak is 3300 feet. The average grade is 5.8%.

This is the first time I made such a long climb on a bike. It was a grind, but a good grind, and the views were amazing. I wanted to share some of them here.

Map of the trip.

The climb starts here.

2000 ft up.

2500 ft up.

Reached the summit! The final 100m was brutal as the grade went up to 12%.

Another summit pic. My bike is an Orbea Avant M20 2016 if anyone's curious.

Thanks for reading!
