My world (SELF PORTRAIT ILLUSTRATION)
A have a dear friend who is an illustrator, and one of the things she likes the most is to draw self portraits as a way to understand herself better. She says that when she does it, she can caption clearly her emotions and state of mind at the moment in a way a photograph can’t do.
Tengo una amiga que es ilustradora, y una de las cosas que más le gustan es dibujar autorretratos como una forma de entenderse mejor a si misma. Dice que cuando lo hace, puede captar claramente sus emociones y su estado de ánimo de una manera en que una fotografía no puede hacerlo.
I rarely do self portraits, not even selfies and I kinda don’t like being photographed. But this time I tried her technique, I open my sketchbook and started.
Rara vez hago autorretratos, ni siquiera selfies y no me gusta ser fotografiada. Pero esta vez probé su técnica, abrí mi cuaderno de bocetos y empecé.
I started enjoying the process, when I finished my face, I added my cats, because they are an important part of my life. Then I filled the space with black, and it ended up looking like a window. The planets, stars and shadows over me, were a representation of what I felt.
Empecé a disfrutar del proceso, cuando terminé mi cara, añadí a mis gatos, porque son importantes para mi. Luego llené el espacio de negro y terminó pareciéndose a una ventana. Los planetas, las estrellas y las sombras sobre mí, son una representación de lo que sentía.
The sketch with pencil and black crayon, ended up looking like a window through my mind, a window though my way of feel and perceive things. Or at least, that’s what I feel when I look at it now. 💖
Este boceto con lápiz y crayón negro terminó pareciéndose a una ventana a través de mi mente, una ventana a mi forma de sentir y ver las cosas. O al menos, eso es lo que siento cuando lo miro ahora. 💖
