I sat on a small plastic bench looking around with puzzlement. On the ground around me laid scattered pieces of rusty metal and empty, dilapidated wooden crates. It was daytime. In a dim light filtered through the thick layer of forecast could be seen a vast, dreary plain interspersed here and there with patches of rough shrubbery. There was constant wind, and ghostly skeletons of tumbleweed silently rolled through the plain.

I noticed that I had company. In front of me sat grinning some brutish dude with a huge hairy chest, five pairs of arms, in addition to which he had tentacles growing from his stomach and shoulders. The tentacles moved slightly touching things around. It seemed they had a life of their own. The dude with tentacles grinned at me, showing his big, excellent teeth. I wondered how he managed to have such good teeth, probably it was related to his diet. I realized how strange and irrelevant this thought was, considering the circumstances.

On my left, I saw some creature reminiscent of a massive green orange, densely overgrown with fluffy moss. It had a smattering of eyes on its front side. All those eyes constantly moved in all directions producing a feeling of unease in an observer. A huge mouth with full and voluptuous lips was situated on the top side of this spherical creature, and it was opening and closing persistently as if trying to catch something in the air. The creature produced strange, booming sounds, something that could've come from a subwoofer. It seemed like it was addressing the dude with the tentacles and the latter according to the expression of amusement on his face understood this message conducted in the form of a low-pitch booming noise. His tentacles moved frantically, creating some exquisite patterns in the air. It occurred to me that these patterns communicated response. I felt shut off from the conversation I couldn't understand, and it made me nervous.

A bit away in the distance stood something that at first reminded me of a giraffe. At least it had this long neck, on top of which was mounted a small head with an elongated snout and tiny antlers. What was striking, this head had no eyes. Neither it had any other orifices whatsoever. The illusion of similarity of this creature to a giraffe was shattered when I took a look at what constituted the bottom part of this animal. While immediately below the neck it still looked like a body of a giraffe, the lower part of its body transformed into a wide pool of some bubbling liquid spreading around to the distance of several meters.

I realized that I wasn't able to remember anything. Questions that bothered me were; How I got to this place and what happened before. It didn't feel like a temporary blackout after a night of heavy drinking. It was rather like somebody meticulously went through my brain with an eraser, erasing everything concerning the events of my life. Although, I could remember things related to my identity. I was a human being from the planet Earth. Also, I remembered various rather abstract things; everything I'd learned. I could tell how many protons there were in an oxygen atom or name a year when the great panhuman revolution happened. But I couldn't remember anything personal. Although, recollections about some historical events, particularly related to recent history gave some context to my current predicament. Namely, it looked a bit like one of those asteroids designed as prisons for those resisting this panhuman revolution and following fascist movement with hordes of vigilantes armed with machine guns and flamethrowers clearing the Earth from everybody who didn't look like a human. A small number of people who tried to take a stand against this massacre were either killed or swiftly packed in freight spaceships and disposed to a bunch of asteroids from where they couldn't escape. Some of the aliens fleeing the bloodbath bribed their way on those ships as well. For them, it was a way to escape. So it seemed I too was stranded on one of those asteroids.
