Hello Steemites, in a previous post I promised to do video tutorials on the bass guitar. That will come in shortly (I need an assistance in Uploading to dtube). Today I will do a brief introduction to the bass guitar.
What is a bass guitar? A bass guitar, also known as electric bass is a stringed instrument that produces low frequency sounds. It can be played with the finger or thumb, by popping, plucking, slapping, strumming, thumping, tapping or picking. I will demonstrate these in my next video posts...
The bass guitar have similar looks in appearance and construction with the electric guitar, but with a longer neck and scale length, and four to six strings. The four-stringed bass, which is the most popular, is usually tuned the same as the double bass, corresponding to pitches one octave lower than the four lowest pitched strings of a guitar (E, A, D, and G). The bass guitar is a transposing instrument, as it is notated in bass clef an octave higher than it sounds. The electric bass guitar has pickups and needs to be connected to an amplifier and speaker, to make a sound loud enough to compete with other instruments.
In my next class, I will explain and demonstrate with a video, the various techniques for playing the bass.
Up vote and follow so you won't miss out if you are a lover of the bass guitar or if you have any interest in learning how to play the bass.
