I've attended a lot of wedding ceremonies, both the ones done in my state and the ones for which I had to travel far, experiencing marriage events in different cultures. Some of these events got me going into the future and seeing myself getting married soon with a lot of imaginations.

How my wedding is going to be like...
This is the most valued in terms of the traditional demand for the land. A church wedding or court wedding can be skipped; a traditional wedding can never be skipped; otherwise, it'll be termed a borrowed marriage.
For now, I don't know the state or country I'm going to marry in; however, we would follow the tradition of my wife's land.
Traditional marriage is the one I would like to be very low-key. Just my parents, two or three members of my family, and we are good to go. No noise at all!
I've attended a lot of white weddings; in fact, I've been privileged to minister at some of them, and I've always dreamt of seeing myself married in church.
I pray that nothing will happen that will make me leave this dream and settle for a court wedding.
How is it going to be that day?
One thing is for sure: I'm this guy who likes things on a minimalist level; I don't like noise.
The only way that would make my wedding less crowded is when I marry outside of my state—I mean, a very far place. If it's going to be in my state, then it's going to be an excess crowd.
The church wedding is going to be a simple one. I pray it falls in my church "worldwide" to make it a quick one for us. I don't like church weddings that last more than two hours. It's not supposed to be a Sunday service.
Reception
If all my male NYSC/NCCF friends avail themselves on my wedding day as groom's men, then it's going to be extra colourful with lots of dance, talks, dramas, and shot shootings (for the singles). These people have been the best of the people I met as friends.
As for me, I would want the gathering to be in a hall and not a canopy stand, with a few round tables for the attendees. I would want it to be very small, but the thought of how influential my dad scarce to me. It's not that he's rich, no. He's the only son of his fathers at home who likes to take responsibility. Whenever a marriage is coming to the family from the diaspora, they reach him first, and he faces the situation. That's why I'm sure that whenever any of us (his children) want to get married, he will invite home and abroad to come and honour him that day... in a way of reciprocation.
With him alone, the occasion is going to be full.
So, I would want it to be small, but I know I won't be able to control it that day. My parents must feel special in the presence of their invited guests.
There is one thing I would like to scrap off on my wedding day if only my wife agrees, because the bride is also a big dictator of the day.
It's cake-cutting!
Gosh!
Can't we just have a wedding without cake and the lengthy talks that come with its cutting??
The day is going to be fun!
I'm seeing it already.
Thanks for reading.
