Let me start this by asking this question: Have you gotten to the point where you rate your highly educated and intelligent teachers and see them as too good to be a teacher or a lecturer?
You've had that, right?
I came across a meme today, and it goes like this:
"If your lecturer is really good at what he is teaching, then he won't be in class teaching it."
You got the sarcasm?
Immediately I saw this, I burst into laughter, and I went ahead to repost it on my WhatsApp status, not minding that the lecturers on my contact list would view the post.
After five minutes of posting that, I went to check the 'view list' and saw that Pastor Fortune, who's one of my well-respected pastors and also a teacher, had just viewed it. I felt bad about it because I don't know whether he understood that post.
But also,
The post heavily implies that those teachers and lecturers teaching or lecturing students don't know the subject so well. If they claim to know it, why did they end up teaching it instead of practising it?...we know the big pay on any sector comes in the practising company and not the shoutingteaching.
I know you want to come up with, "Don't you know teaching is a profession, and most of these lecturers chose to teach instead of going to the main practical field". I know this, but in Nigeria, my country, 98.7% of teachers and lecturers settled for the job because they couldn't get to the main field of practise. Doubting me? If your dad or mom is a teacher, ask him or her why he or she didn't go to practise the chemical mixture in chemistry he teaches so well in class. Also, I know we have people that studied education but the absolute truth is that, if they see a job in the mega sector, they would run away from their so called desire to teach.🤧
During my third year in school, we had this lecturer that taught us hydraulics. He was so good in the way he explained facts and was just full of knowledge to the extent that we voted him the best lecturer. But then, I never seize to imagine, "Why does this man teaches instead of practising it in the company?". He's so good that I concluded that if he's opportuned to be employed by a company, he'll automatically be moved to the top of the hierarchy. But na, life decided to play Champions League on his head.
Coming down to this Hive platform, I've read so many blogs about site development here and there...people rubbishing some people's work and putting their own as the best. If you're so good, you don't need to be here; you should be on your site.
But the simple truth is that, although these teachers and lecturers are knowledgeabl, YES, there is no doubt about that, but people in the practising fields are better than them. If you want to prove otherwise, let's go to court.🏋️
