The crime in my city is fair enough
I've known the city where I'm currently residing for some years, and I know a lot about the crime rate in the city.
Before now, the regular crime used to be the breaking in of houses and shops to steal petty items such as food, phones, and laptops, and in a situation whereby they didn't see any of these, they switched to money demand..."your money or your life". This thing was so rampant to the extent that the community accepted it as a norm.
It'll surprised you to know that I was once robbed of my pot of soup. The night it happened, the thieves came in with a blunt cutlasses and cart away with my phone and a freshly prepared pot of Egusi soup.
The reason it was like that in my city was because, the city is overpopulated with 98 percentage of students (higher institution students)
The crime rate reduced and got switched.
The rampant robbery drastically reduced when the trend of 'Yahoo' (internet fraud) came onboard. Young guys that were into robbery switched to the 'better-paying business', which was a bit sweatless and risk-free compared to robbery.
The town became free once again; news of every night's robbery waved off and with this, the police got relaxed too because there was no need to stay awake at the junction of every road.
A more dangerous crime emerged.
Like I said earlier, it's a student area, and students like to move with the trend. The Yahoo business got into the heads of many, and they delved into the core aspect of it, which is using humans for rituals in order to succeed.
At first, it started like a mere play, but when it became rampant, curfew was imposed for the night and motorcyclists were banned from driving deep into the street because these motorcyclists were accomplice so as well as victims of the bad occurrences.
It was so scary then because we would wake up and meet a butchered lady in an uncompleted building on the street.
The police swung into action, and this set of people ran away. A few of them were caught, and when interrogated, they led the police to their houses, where they stored human parts in refrigerators. Scary!
Community clashes!
Community clash is one of the major security issues in my city because whenever it happens, blood flows a land filled with milk and honey.
So bad, it happens at regular intervals, and during such a season, flies don't dare to fly at night.
The community I resides and her neighbouring community have been on the issue of land, which has claimed a lot of lives, and they are not tired yet.
Sometimes, we would wake up to find that some group of people were missing, and before the end of a day or two, their bodies would be found butchered on the farm. Deadly馃挃
My street is safe, though.
In all these happenings, my street is always safe because it's located in a well-known space.
My street has a very busy and noisy Lounge that keeps the street lit and busy all through the night. I don't know why evil things don't seldom happen there. Maybe it's because of the way the area is busy or maybe because of the *'low budget security'. It could also be that, the bad boys take the place as a relaxation centre, where they unwind before they launch their attack on other areas.
The only thing that occurs often is fighting from the effect of alcohol and drugs, which are very normal to us because we are used to them. Sometimes we would come out around 3 a.m. to separate fights if we noticed that it's a girl that's being beaten.

The only odd occurrence I've witnessed was when an occultic group of not less than 30 members swung into the Lounge around 8:00pm, with battle axes on their hands and they cut people that were not fast enough to run away.
Omo! All through that week, the Lounge shut down, and we developed the habit of going to bed by 8:00 p.m.
