Makoko is one of the most unique places I’ve ever seen. A whole community living on water, wooden houses on stilts, kids paddling canoes to school, and families doing life in ways most of us can’t imagine.

It’s easy to look at it and just see poverty, but when I really looked closer, I saw strength, creativity, and community. The people of Makoko have built a life in the middle of water surviving, smiling, and showing the world what it means to adapt.

There’s a kind of art in their everyday life. It made me think deeply about how people survive, how they create beauty from almost nothing. Makoko isn’t just a place, it’s a reminder that even in the toughest situations, people still find ways to live fully.
