He is full of tricks (wiles) and if you're not fully guarded, you may fall by the way side and be enslaved by him.

Salvation entails complete freedom from sin, sicknesses, poverty and all the bye products of sin.
So a good soldier who is entitled to wear this must be TRULY SAVED (to accept Jesus as your Lord and savior, and let your heart match your confession)

The helmet of salvation will protect your head from darts, confusing thoughts, from mind games of the devil etc.

This is the quality that confers integrity and uprightness of heart.

Faith is the main weapon of defence. Because it's with the shield of faith, we block and repel all the darts of the enemies.
