the title pastor or bishop or apostle belong to JESUS
Hebrews 3:1 (KJV) Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;
lets also take a look at the book of John 10:11 (KJV) I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
the good shepherd is also referred to as a pastor or a Bishop , even peter called JESUS the good shepherd which means pastor or bishop.
1 Peter 2:23-25 (KJV) Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
what JESUS gave to the church is the functions (gifts) of being his own not titles.
Ephesians 4:8 (KJV) Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
the gifts he gave us are in the book of Ephesians 4:11-12
Ephesians 4:11-12 (KJV) And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
we are not to be called teachers because JESUS is the only true teacher that we have.
we all are brethrens. funny enough, most people even go as far as calling themselves most reverend and it means those people are proclaiming themselves above JESUS and it is wrong.
Matthew 23:8 (KJV) But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.
so brother Eli Soriano is not a pastor,he is our brother.
we all are baptized into one body
1 Corinthians 12:13 (KJV) For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
and being baptized is not a guarantee that one must speak in tongues.
1 Corinthians 12:28-30 (KJV) And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?
Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?
the first sign that should be seen in us if we been baptized is not speaking of tongues but the presence of love
the first signs of the presence of the HOLY SPIRIT is love
Galatians 5:22 (KJV) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
