Fan Lau Costal Trail which hugs the coastline for seventeen kilometres from Shek Pik 石壁 and to Tai O 大澳, is one of most relaxing walking trail in Hong Kong.
Fan Lau, meaning Divided Flow, is a small peninsular which has is a nearly forgotten indigenous village on the southwestern tip of Lantau Island.
It is so named as it is located at the estuary of the Pearl River, where brackish water of the Pearl River flows into open berly clear Pacific Ocean water. Where the currents merge a sinuous line can be seen.
