This afternoon I decided to take some photos of a dry tree trunk in the backyard. It had been raining for several days, but thankfully today the weather was perfect and I was able to get these shots outdoors.

As I got closer, I noticed how the cracked wood and damp bark seemed to come alive under the sunlight; tiny insects and textures that had gone unnoticed before revealed themselves to the camera, reminding me that even in what looks dry and forgotten, an entire ecosystem is holding on.

It was a simple but rewarding moment. After so many days stuck inside because of the rain, stepping out into the yard and connecting with nature through my lens brought me peace and made me appreciate these little everyday details even more.
