The end of the year is fast approaching and here I am reminiscing some of my bittersweet memories from the past and I want share some of it. My introduction post before was so short because I was a victim of attempted cyber bullying and I was afraid that I might experience that terrifying feeling again. But right now I have to face that fear.
Let me introduce myself again by sharing some of my memories.
Highschool Memories
I went to a private school when I started Highschool because I got scholarship for being a Salutatorian from Elementary grade. It didn't work out because unfortunately the status of my life was somehow being judged by some of the students and also, even though I got the scholarship, we didn't have that much money to provide for daily expenses. So I transferred to a public school on my 2nd year and it was the best decision my parents did. I finally found set of friends who has the same wavelength as mine.
We helped each other through tough times, laughed and talk about crushes and everything in life.
This picture was taken on my 4th year highschool (2006) where I found genuine friends.
I met them again after several years to catch up. Although all us were just on the same city, we couldn't really have much time to meet everyday or every week so it was really good to see them again.
But that was around 2011- 2012 and it's a long time ago, haven't really seen them lately because they became super busy, they got their own families now and some of them were also working outside the country.
College Mementos
I studied Civil Engineering . It wasn't easy because college life hit me so hard, had multiple breakdowns due failing subject and other personal matters (family, friends, financial & lovelife).
I was a jolly type of person. I had more time having fun than studying but I do love studying, I wasn't just focused enough.
I had my first field job as an OJT when I was in 4th year college. Everything was new to me, its like I was exposed to a new kind of world. Luckily the people who I worked with were so helpful and they taught me a lot about construction industry.
After year, I decided to work to help with some finances and luckily someone hired me even though I was still a student. I was hired as a cost engineer trainee but it only lasted for 6 months because they have to cut costs and since I was still a student I'm one of the people who were laid off by the company.
In this picture all of us were students but different schools. They were on their OJT that time.
I also joined several fun activities such as volunteering for the community. The students of Civil Engineering Department went to Caluan Cavite to give a hand on painting finished houses.
I'm grateful that even though I had a lot of hardship emotionally and mentally, I was able to find my gems.
My super awesome friends that I'm still in touch until today.
Entering Battlefield
It took me 7 years to finish college. Due to some wrong decisions I made, I paid an additional 2 years staying into college for that. I became depressed and I was alone battling in my last college years. But I fought those difficulties and won the battle. I was finally free. Well I thought I was. But then after graduating and passing the board exams I just realized, that I was still battling, just another battlefield- a bigger one.
Despite of facing a lot of challenges, I didn't forget to smile and make jokes and until now I keep fighting and making the most out my life the way I wanted to spend it.
I'm not yet ready to welcome 2022 because I'll be 31 years next year lol but I'm excited to see what next year will offer. But no matter what I will face it wholeheartedly.
