I just discovered I don’t really like resolutions. Not because it’s bad, but because it causes me healthy pain. Like a lot of people I don’t like pain. Right now I’m very sick, but I must take the pain to write because I made it a resolution. I also made a resolution to do exercise every single day, and truthfully I have every excuse not to do it, but then I ask myself why give an excuse for something you created. I just finished putting myself through an hour of intense exercises because even though I shouldn't, I think my mind can be stronger if I prove that I can go the mile and do things a lot of people will not do.
Truth is, before today I used to fail in writing. In fact last year I was on a writing streak that ended on the 27th of december. Can you imagine just three days to the end of the new year and I failed because I was tired. I had made a lot of resolutions in the past and failed in them, and if I’m to be honest, I always wondered how it would have been if I had just gone that extra mile especially when I see that I didn’t give my all. I don’t feel winning is in the prize, I feel winning is in not giving up and I have given up countless times than I can imagine.
I have a lot of things I want to be consistent in, and I now have a resolution to give my all. I will only stop when there is nothing more to give. As long as I can still give something I feel there is always a chase to win. I think this is why my many failures don't easily get to me. Although there was a time my failures weighed me down and brought me into depression until I changed the narrative and refined what it means for me to win. I win when I give everything, not minding the result and be ready to go again even after losing.
