My band got offered a gig this Sunday, it was pretty short notice but, we accepted it nonetheless. Recently I joined a cover band and it's been so much fun. Before joining this band I'd never really learned any covers, I've been in an original Punk/ Ska band for a few years now, and together we've learned a few covers, but, have never played any of them live.
As soon as we got the message about the gig, I got onto the other members of the band and asked them if they were up for it and it was a unanimous yes, with that I got onto Night Café and started creating a few A.I posters for it, with the intention of finding a picture interesting enough to use and write the details on.
I typed in Halloween Party Poster and the site made this for me.
This was the first one given back to me, which I thought was pretty cool. I did generate 2 more, but, neither of them was as good as this one.
I find most of the time, the A.I art seems to put random words on the poster, but, that's okay because I was able to use Microsoft Paint to blank out the words and write up my own.
I think it came out pretty good and I sent it to the pub to put up on their social media page, and I did the same myself. I'm printing out a few of them to put up in a few of the chippers and taxi ranks. It's going to be a fun night, as the bar manager let me know that he's hosting a costume competition, which is really good, hopefully, plenty of people decide to dress up for it! I know I will, I don't know what I'm going to be yet. My girlfriend suggested going in a couples costume but she wasn't sure what to go as, so I suggested I'll go as a priest and she can go as a choir boy, lol. She wasn't impressed with that idea.
I mentioned earlier about the Punk/ Ska band learning a few covers, we've jammed everything from Johnny Cash to Pink Floyd, but, we don't have any recordings of them.
We do however have one recording of a cover that I actually filmed a video for when I was in college.
Sleaford Mods - Jobseeker
I actually introduced this band to another Hivian, 
The first Sleaford Mods song I heard was one called Jobseeker, this video is the best version of the song, as the studio version doesn't have too much power in it.
They do such a great job of it here on Jools Holland, I remember the band sitting around watching it and being blown away by it and while playing around on the instruments we discovered that the cords are E, G, and A,A,A,A,A. With that, we started playing it and the guitar player sang it, for the fun they decided to record it and since I needed to film a music video for an assignment for college I got the camera out and took some video and edited it. I mentioned it to my music video tutor and when I said about the cover she said that she was a fan of Sleaford Mods which was cool.
Here's the end result and I was pretty happy with it, it was the second music video I produced.
