Commencing Countdown

It has been a while since the last time I was building the Halo sets, and because I had some spare time today, I jumped back into them, starting with one that I almost had complete.

It's a fairly large set, and it's also pretty rare.

I was disappointed because it is missing some pieces, but I went onto the Mega website today and ordered some parts for this, which appeared in other sets. This set is discontinued, so I can't have the parts ordered, so I was delighted to find a still active set from which I could order parts.

This is as far as I got with this set the last time, and since then it has been sitting in the corner of my office.

It's basically a launch pad, for one of the large ships I've got in the collection, and even though it's missing some pieces, it could still fetch a decent price, although, obviously not as much as it could if it was mostly complete.

Here's the top of the piece from the last picture, the control room.

Excuse the dust, I decided to get it together as much as I could, so I could identify what was missing, order the parts, and then deconstruct, and clean the entire thing, before rebuilding it for photographing.

There are some unique pieces to this set, and luckily, I have them.

Here are the consoles, intact.

This took me so long to find, but there was one piece missing.

Combined, it formed this cool satellite dish.

The piece that was missing was this small two by 1 block that connects the other side of the satellite to the base itself, and I wasn't able to find it.

I moved on, went to search for something else, and then boom, I found it instantly.

It's funny when things like that happen, it's like as you stop searching for something, you find it.

With the entire base assembled, all I had to do was connect the specific parts together.

Here it is, alongside the ship, the figures, and accessories.

The set is mostly complete, all its missing now are fairly common pieces, which I'll hopefully be able to get in the post soon.

Here are the six figures included in the set.

Two Spartans, two Marines, and two officers. They're fairly cool looking, and there are also some spare armour pieces for the Spartans included, just in case you want to swap out their arms, and helmet.

I'm delighted to have this finished now, I've packed it into a box on its own, and it takes up the entire thing. It's better than having it laying around, but it is fairly bulky so I'm looking forward to selling it. Until then though, it can grace my office and take up a bunch of space.
