In the face of a world in which the African culture gets bleak by the day due to soaring Americanization, the best way to keep our identity is by constantly studying and appreciating the things which are of African descent.

Many a time we have found out that the African cultural heritage has been trust to the periphery of human thought. What we realize nowadays is that only 2 or at best 4 out of 10 Africans are ready to welcome and embrace their culture, identity and heritage. I have met people who claimed to be whites but their complexion was all but evidence that they werent whites but Blacks.

In order to grind to a halt, the dwindling "Africanism" of our very own people, I vehemently submit that we incorporate afrocentrism and africanization into the educational system and also put measures in place to sell or hit home our culture, history, identity and heritage to our very own people.
It is only when we have achieved a holistic Africanization of our own people that we can look to sell it across international waters.

WHAT THEN IS AFROCENTRISM ?

As submitted by wikipedia, "afrocentrism also known as afrocentricity is a worldwide view or cultural ideology that focuses on the history of black Africans."
However I'd to perceive afrocentrism or afrocentricity as a response to global (Eurocentric) attitude about African people and their cultural heritage, which focuses primarily on the history of the African community.

It is only by embracing our cultural heritage and history that the African people can achieve a full-fledged Afrocentrism.
While Afrocentrism may be conceived as an African-American-inspired ideology which helped them to stand their ground in a racially dominated world, it is of utmost importance to the African as it helps to keep the light on our culture and heritage.
By Africanizing ourselves through a persistent study of our history, Africans are able to make out the truth from the rivulets of lies that keep spiraling around the world.
By understanding the hustle and bustle our forefathers went through to attain "freedom," Africans are ale to know and accept the reality that nothing was ever given to us on a silver plata.

These infinitesimal truths are what will help us come to an accurate understanding of our heritage and thus motivate us to embrace it and sell it to the outside world. By so doing we are able to soar high above the limiting walls which have been built to hamper the progess of the African community. By setting sights on ourselves and appreciating who we are, we take the first step towards obliterating the white man's undue influence over us, and take Africanization a notch higher.

I believe that it behoves every African to ensure that the history of its people is well-told to the generations to come. In our homes, schools, workplaces, wherever, we must endeavour to seize the opportunity to clarify a misconception about Africans, sell an African culture or tell the African history to people. I believe it is the duty of every parent and teacher to ensure that their students come to an 'accurate' understanding of the African history, so that as they make their way up the ladder of life, they do not become fallible to the fallacies which have been tailored to further blacken or darken black Africans.

Africanization is the modification of place names and personal names to reflect an African identity. (Wikipedia)

There is only so much I can touch on. What are your views on Afrocentrism being used as a tool to hit home Africanization?
