Origin of the Ugandan Knuckles:

The Ugandan Knuckles started when the Youtuber gregzilla animated Knuckles the Echidna from Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog series. Knuckles appeared in the video for about a second:

Afterwards, a deviant artist called tidiesflyer made a 3D version of said knuckles and used it in VR Chat:

What is VR Chat? According to knowyourmeme.com:

VRChat is a free-to-play multiplayer virtual reality social game in which players explore various virtual worlds using customized in-game avatars.

Aside from the knuckles, what makes this meme a whole is the incorporation of the Ugandan Vine: "Why are you Running?"

As well as the incorporation of the Ugandan Warriors meme which comes from the twitch streamer Forsen with the spread of the Zulul meme (will explain in future posts) and his stream chat containing Ugandan players trying to kill him in games such as PUBG (PlayerUknown's Battle Grounds).And most especially from the film Who killed Captain Alex?, a Ugandan film.

Basically, this was the recipe to which we now know as the Ugandan Knuckles, who goes around VR Chat and typically associated with the expression "Do you know the way" in a mock African accent and spelled "Do u kno da wei". Now they appear in groups, referring to each other as "Brudahs" and makes clucking noises to praise something. If unhappy with someone or something they tend to spit on it.
