Hive Meet-up in Nigeria|| A Friendship Bond Created Through Hive

The hiveNaija community had a hive meet-up for hivers in Nigeria on the 29th of January 2022 in two different locations and I attended the one held in Portharcourt city, River state.

Since I lived in another state, I had to travel on the morning of the meetup with my friend @young-boss-karin who was the host of the meetup and since the meetup was slated for 1 pm, we had to leave Bayelsa where we resided early in the morning to be able to meet up.

I won’t lie, I had some reservations about going to the meetup because It was the first time meeting certain people and I had concerns about how much synergy we would have but getting there, I realized that it was all in my head.

The attendees of this meetup were @peaq, @wildthougts, @samostically, @young-boss-karin, @almostsober, and myself and I can’t even explain how much fun we had together.

First of all, it felt like we had known each other for years so it wasn’t awkward at all and after pleasantries, we immediately went on so many adventures together like climbing, VR reality, and even had a musical duet amongst others.

Samostically also had the responsibility of giving a hive talk and I learned so much from him for the few minutes he spoke.

We ended the night closer than we had started and we practically didn’t want to leave each other even though we had to.

ONE THING I LEARNED FROM THIS MEETUP

I learned how powerful hive was because it brought different people from different backgrounds and made us feel like we didn’t need to be more than just humans and that was amazing.

We ate together, made jokes, and could be ourselves without thinking much about it and I think that is what hive is for, creating a community of people who don’t care about status, reputation, or background.

FINALLY,

Even though I almost died by riding a rollercoaster, I thoroughly enjoyed the meetup and I can’t wait for the next one.
