“But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.” – 2 Timothy 4:5.
Soul winning is the ministry of every Christian and not only the evangelism ministry in your local church. Mark 16:15 says, “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” We are mandated to do the work of an evangelist, that is to preach Christ to everybody we come across.
It is our duty to evangelize, therefore if we are not winning souls we are being disobedient. We must preach the gospel with enthusiasm. Engage in aggressive intercessory prayers for lost souls for the Holy Spirit to arrest them. God can draw men to church without anyone inviting them. Pray that anytime you share the gospel with people their hearts will be receptive to receive the Word.
Winning souls produce joy. Luke 10:17 says, “And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.” Miracles, signs and wonders happen during evangelism. There is always an opportunity to pray for someone and God confirms His Word with signs and wonders. He heals the sick and sets the captives free. It is a delight to see the power of God manifested in the life of new disciples, it makes the gospel real to them.
If only you will step out in the fields God will grant you a harvest of souls. Heaven rejoices when a sinner repents. A soul winner is on God’s payroll. A worker is entitled to his wages. The blessings of God comes in many forms; good health is one of them. Market a great product – Jesus to the people you meet. If Jesus has indeed transformed your life you will let men know.
