“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” – Revelation 3:20.
Jesus can only live in us if we allow Him. He is always knocking on the door of your heart so you can open your heart to Him. It is the desire of Jesus to stay with you and dine with you. Luke 19:5 (GNT) says, “When Jesus came to that place, he looked up and said to Zacchaeus, "Hurry down, Zacchaeus, because I must stay in your house today."
Jesus makes His dwelling in us forever when we obey His commandments. We demonstrate our love for Him by reading and heeding to the Word. John 14:23 says, “Jesus answered and said unto him, if a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.”
Sometimes we may have accepted Jesus’ friend request, but we don’t allow Him into our space. If Jesus doesn’t control your life - your lifestyle and temperament, then Jesus is dormant in your life. We treat Him as a visitor – He has limited access in our life. One way to test yourself to see whether Jesus is a visitor or friend is to check your lifestyle. Do you consult God on every matter?
Since you became born again, has your life been transformed? Do you desire to fellowship with Jesus each day? After this assessment, if you need to rededicate your life to Jesus, please do. It is never too late to start afresh with Jesus. Note that Jesus is not any ordinary friend, but a Great friend and Companion who fills every void in your life. He is dependable and trustworthy, and a burden carrier. Allow Jesus to reign in your life.
