Pride rather than humility to ask for help. I can imagine most gals cringe at trying to fix an electrical socket, or worse get injured in the attempt. As a Home Owner and Land Lady I have fixed a number of sockets in my home to save the expense of hiring an often expensive Ticketed Electrician for a remove and replace job.
