Ecologic Hair Clips!

Hello Steemit! In this post I will show you how to make some cute hair clips with candy wrappers. Yes, with those papers that we always throw away that are metallic and can be reused and thus we recycle and help the planet. In addition, the possibilities are endless, you can make a headband, bracelets, handbags and more. Today I'll show you the most basic, how to knit the "links" of paper that we will do and the rest I'll leave it to your imagination! This hair clips are perfect if you want to give something done with your own hands, because they are not difficult to make and the best part is that you can make many of them in short time.

Materials

Ruler
Marker
Scissors
Silicone (if you have silicone in bar you'll need a glue gun. Since mine got damaged, I use a lighter or the kitchen stove)
Hair clips
Ice cream wrappers, candy wrappers, etc of your choice

Additional: Paper clips, to keep the links while flattening.

Steps:

1. Clean the wrappers well and make sure there is no residue left. Place them under something heavy (like books) so that they flatten out.

2. On the silver side of the wrapper draw rectangles of 2,5cm x 6cm (1'' x 2.5'') to cut them.

3. With the silver part towards you, you start to fold the rectangle.

First you fold half length

Reopen, check that the doubles have been well marked

Turn each half towards the center, so that they are halfway down.

Fold these new halves in such a way that there is a long strip with two folds.

Now you fold this strip in half.

You open it again

And take the halves to the center.

You will have a paper link like this

Then with a paper clip, you make sure it stays with the folds you made. You should leave it like this for at least 1 hour. You must do this with all the paper links.

4. Once you have all the links flattened you can begin to knit. The paper link has an "upper part" and a "lower part". The lower part is the one with many folds, while the upper part is the one that looks more simple. This is because it is easier to put the links at the upper part.

In this photo I show you (with a much larger rectangle) what I mean with the "upper part" and "lower part", so that you can appreciate it better.

You take a paper link with the upper part to the right and put another link through the folds in such a way that the upper part is also to the right.

The next paper link must also be inserted, taking care that the upper part is to the right. This in order that, as I said earlier, we make the work easier.

Then we repeat until we obtain the desired length. If at any time it is difficult to pass one of the links, you can pull it out with an eyebrow tweezer.
