My C+ Antigen Rapid Test

Just about a week ago, my brother became infected with COVID and I thought I somehow managed to contract it without any symptoms since I had been in close contact with other COVID-positive people some time back. Well, turns out that was wrong as I started getting flu symptoms two days back. I'm already triple-vaxxed so the symptoms are nothing too serious, but still, being down with the flu sucks. I get restless way more easily, and my sinuses and throat are getting pummelled by the damn virus.

Since a young age, I've never gotten sick often, so each time something like this happens it's a rather unpleasant experience. It's a little hard to explain, but the world just seems different when you're sick. It's also much harder to enjoy whatever I'm doing and I just wanna spend the day sleeping, but if I sleep the entire day away I'd have much more trouble getting to sleep at night.

I'm a little miffed at how long the virus took to propagate to me though - an entire week! When my brother first contracted COVID, I wished that it would spread to me ASAP since that would also mean that I would be able to recover earlier. I have a driving test next week and I wanted to get in a practice session this weekend so I would have fewer exam day jitters. Sadly, my situation today doesn't seem to bode well for being able to recover fully in the next two days, so I'll just have to hope for the best to pass my driving test.

That being said, I'm also relieved that I contracted COVID - this should hopefully mean that I get some extra immunity against the virus in the immediate future once I'm fully recovered. I have plans to travel in the coming months (should there not be a WW3) and my worry was always that I would contract COVID while I was there and having to quarantine in a foreign country. With this infection, I think I would be less likely to contract another bout of this virus and would be able to enjoy my future trip better. I'm pretty excited to travel again after how COVID put up a giant middle finger to the entire travel industry. Unlike many other countries out there, Singapore is a really tiny country (roughly the same land size as New York) and domestic travel is pretty much non-existent. Let's just hope things don't take a turn for the worse in the coming months.

As for today, I've taken a sick day off from work and am trying to take things a little easy. Don't really feel like doing anything that requires mental effort, but mindlessly watching YouTube and scrolling through the web gets kinda boring after a while. That's why I decided to write this blog post as something like an interim activity to do while I think of how to spend the rest of my time today.

If you've read this post in its entirety, thanks for listening to my ramblings and I hope you're keeping well and safe. Until next time!
