Hello beautiful humans!
It has been exactly one year since I was last here on the banks of the Willamette River for an Aphrodite Temple, and it has been quite a year. I can say without a doubt that the last year has been the most challenging since my "awakening" began in 2012.
I was hoping to make it to this summer's temple, but when I reached out a couple of weeks ago, they had already closed registration. Then, Wednesday night around midnight, I got a text asking if I was still available this weekend and if I would like to help out in the kitchen, so of course I said yes. 9 hours later I was on my way here :-)
All of Wednesday had felt like a wonderful step in my practice of finding the flow, releasing control, while also having a slightly tighter range of options I'm willing to dive into. For many years I found that state of surrender, trust, and manifestation through living out of my backpack and truly being ready & open to whatever happened next, rarely having a plan for where I might go or what I might be doing any given day.
Now, as I find myself wanting to ground in more, to have some more stability in life, and even looking to find work next month, I've been doing my best to integrate that way of being with a more limited set of options (mostly that I'm not going to just head off in whatever direction for however long at any given moment. The metaphor that came to me as I was walking down to the dock to record this video was the way that fish & birds both "go with the flow" so well, so naturally, and yet are always making their own adjustments and exerting some level of control over their movement, and I can totally see that lining up for me now.
The most wonderful thing about making it to this temple is that exactly a year ago when I was here I set some intentions for community living, finding work, etc... and quickly headed in the opposite direction of those things as they manifested, all due to an old story about my not being worthy (primarily -of love, but in general as well), and now I get to set my intentions around finding that feeling of worthiness. Oh, and the menu was all planned, veggies chopped, and everything's being done in Instant Pots, so I really don't have to work at all, and I still get a free retreat weekend :-)
I don't think I'll be going digital again until the end of the weekend, but I may record one more video while I'm in this beautiful place, we'll see.
As always, thank you so much for tuning in, and I look forward to connecting again soon!
