This is the first time I've planted an eggplant from a seed that I got from a discarded fruit. I simply buried it in the ground, and now it has sprouted and even produced a flower!

I started growing the eggplant in the last month of December 2022, and it sprouted quickly. In January 2023, I took care of it until it was big enough to be transferred to a larger container. However, I am not very hopeful about its survival and growth because I have no idea how to properly care for it.

The only thing I know is that I need to ensure that the soil has enough natural vitamins so that the eggplant doesn't lose weight and can continue to bloom and bear fruit.

I put so much soil in the container that I expected it to settle over time as I watered the plant. However, I plan to supplement the soil with rotting vegetable and fruit leaves.

As you can see in the picture, the eggplant plant has started to flower, which is the beginning of the fruiting process. I'm not sure when the fruit will be ready to harvest, as I haven't studied much about growing eggplants.

My only problem with the container is that when I cut off the top, I didn't clean the edges, so they are quite sharp. This has caused the eggplant leaves to be cut.

Since the weather is hot now, the eggplant plant needs to be watered every day to prevent the soil and roots from drying out and to keep its branches, leaves, and flowers fresh.

In this picture, you can see the eggplants starting to sprout. I just let the leftover eggplant grow here.

I just pulled out some small eggplant sprouts so that they don't compete for nutrients with the other eggplants in the soil. To provide calcium for the plants, I water them with a water soaked with eggshells.

If any weeds are growing around the eggplant plant, I pull them out and chop them up to use as fertilizer for the plant once they dry.

I'm just waiting for the eggplant to start producing fruit so I can harvest it. And for those who may not know, there are many ways to cook eggplant and it is a nutritious vegetable that is rich in vitamins.

Additionally, did you know that eggplant is actually a fruit, not a vegetable? _
