My new pen art piece is inspired by Makoko, the famous floating community in Lago. I used the scrubbing technique and precise straight lines to bring out the unique texture of the water, capturing both its calm flow and hidden depth. Every stroke reflects the rhythm of life in Makoko — the houses on stilts, the boats that glide across the lagoon, and the resilience of the people who call it home.

Through this work, I want viewers to see beyond just water and structures, and connect with the spirit of survival, culture, and beauty that Makoko represents. The pen is simple, but with patience, it tells a powerful story of community and environment.
