The first time I backpacked to Zambales is something I considered very memorable. There were lots of first times for me that I haven't really tried doing in my life. I am known to be the person who has full of fears and phobias. Yeah, the cowardly girl. But for the first time in my life, I enjoyed how it is to live simply without any technological interferences because of the absence of signal, without electricity, without an lpg and stove to cook meals, without lights at night, without electrical pump to supply water at homes, without smoke and light pollution like we experience from the cities. Yes, for the first time I met people who were happy despite the situation very far from what I've been used to growing up. They enjoyed their lives the way they were.
The experience reminds me of Immersion programs or Missionary life or what volunteering in third-world countries as seen on television is like.
The first photo captured the best moments from a big family playing on the river. They were having their usual picnics by the river. It was summer that time and it was perfect enough for them to be complete and have quality time. I bet everyone from the place had always had quality time because they aren't occupied with gadgets and Internet that the new technological era has dominated over the lives who have access to it.
The picture above shows a little girl trying to hop fast as much as possible among the scalding stones. It was noon by that time which explains it.
I felt jealousy looking back at those moments and looking at these photos. I didn't have the smae childhood as them.
Up until now, my spirit is still yearning to experience another batch of thrilling experiences. I remember about the quote I once read from an Instagram post saying something like this, "if we were meant to stay at one place, we'd have roots instead of feet". Ohhhhhh wanderlust kicking in! ❤
