Before feasting on Papa's first of the first harvests, we were howling, "QC! QC! (Quality Control)", as our proud parents brought out a weighing scale. I even got one of fingers turn violet after wrongfully catching it when it rolled down from the scale.
It has been 3 years since we started the idea of propagating pineapples. From two principal sources (Kalinga and Cagayan), we planted more than a thousand pineapple apices and slips. We were convinced to plant more of this pineapple, unfortunately we can't sort out whether the first batch of the harvest was from the province of Kalinga or Cagayan. This type did not remind me of the sour ones from the market that can make anyone cringe.
