The ccp wants to spin the narrative that they did a better job of handling the coronavirus than the “foreigners” to add legitimacy to their power. Foreign countries have more accurate numbers while you cant trust the chinese figures. That makes it look like they did a better job.

This plan is working quite well unfortunately.
