Hey Hivers!
I remember last year when we decided to close my younger brother's restobar due to pandemic, it was a heartbreaking decision. The restobar's revenue could no longer sustain the monthly expenses. Monthly revenue drops at around 70%, that was too bad. When thing goes like this, we should learn how to abandon the thing that could no longer gives us profit. Maybe that was a good decision also because up to this time we are still facing the global health crisis. Curfew, health protocols, and lockdowns are still present this time.
The small business specifically the hospitality industry was greatly affected during pandemic. We thought that the pandemic was the worst thing happened in our lives because many small businesses were affected. There were many establishments were permanently closed. Generally, global economy went down. But when the supertyphoon Odette hit Cebu, we told ourselves this is truly the worst thing happened.
During pandemic some restaurants were lucky because they were still able to stand. I remember last year as I went to Alegria just to explore the place, I have discovered the Cosina Organica Restaurant. I was impressed because despite the pandemic there were still many customers who have dine in there. The cosina organica is one of Alegria's pride. Honestly, I have plan to come back to the restaurant because I like the vibe and the food.
I still remember how I was excited to take photos of the restaurant in the sea and to try their food. You may check my blog about Cosina Organica here. I was really satisfied the service and the food the time I went there.
Yesterday, I checked the restaurant and this sight greeted me. The Cosina Organica was totally ruined. Although we already expected that this would truly happen to the restaurant because it is situated in the sea but we can't still believe that in just 4 hours the restaurant was destroyed.
While I was passing by in the restaurant yesterday, I saw the restaurant staffs busy cleaning the chairs and the place.
They were able to stand despite of the global pandemic but are they able to stand again after the supertyphoon Odette? We don't really know what would be the owner's planned. Are they going to rebuild the restaurant again in the same location? That is the thing I wanted to know this time. Are they able to quickly recover? I hope they will.
The photos below were taken by me before and after the Supertyphoon Odette.
Thank you for reading and see you on my next blog. Cheers!
