I was in Alegria, Cebu when the super typhoon Odette hit in Cebu, Philippines. That was my worst typhoon experience. I thought I could not survive but thanks God he gave me another chance to live.
There was a storm surge happened in Alegria (not sure if in the other towns too). Concrete and native houses were gone (completely washed out) therefore there were many homeless families today especially in the southern part of Cebu.
My heart bleeds as I travelled going home. I have seen my countrymen wrote the word "HELP" because everyone was already helpless. Eventhough they were not sure if someone from Luzon part (who will do the survey) can see and read this word "HELP" but what they have held in their heart is "HOPE". Hope that someone can help us so that we can survive in this very tough time. There was no internet connection nor electricity so communication was also difficult.
Roads were completely ruined. The only mode of transportation was the motorcycle.
People with or without motorcycle were forced to hike in the shoreline because road was already ruined. We were thankful that time because it was low tide.
There were people who have initiated to create a temporary road so that the travellers can still cross despite the ruined road. They collected php50.00 per motorcycle as their service fee.

It was difficult to travel but since my communication with my family was completely lost, so I have no choice but to travel going home.
Water, food, and gasoline scarcity were the main problems we have encountered until today.
But for the homeless families, they were truly need cash assistance to build their home again. Have you seen the comfort room? That is the only part of the house being left, the rest was completely washout.
Have you seen the vacant lot? It was a lot where the house of my landlady was built. But after the super typhoon, there was no more house standing in that area.
I was not able to hold my tears as I heard my landlandy's daughter "Ma, where's our house?" My landlady came closer to her daughter and was not able to answer her immediately, she only cried loudly and after a while she replied "Our house was completely washed out by the super typhoon".
My landlady's daughter works in Dumanjug, Cebu. She took risk to travel going home just to check her family but unfortunately as she arrived her 5 year old son (my landlady's grandson) told her "Ma, our house was completely washed out".
This is my landlady's daughter. They've found some of the pieces of woods in their house to the neighboring houses. They've tried to pull and get the woods.

Today, it is already normal to us when we have seen long queues in gasoline and water refilling station; charging station; and other establishments who are offering the basic needs.
I know this time is a tough time but I believe that this too shall pass.
