Olumo rock is a mountain of primitive formation in south-western Nigeria. The name of the capital of Ogun state "Abeokuta" was derived from this place. The history of the rock dates back to the 19th century and, it is the most significant representation of the Egba culture.

The Egba people used to hide in these rocks during inter-tribal wars.
