I just learned a cool new trick!
Shout out to @brianhphotos for the inspiration to try this, and for giving me some tips. It turns out we have the same camera and macro lens. I had never before tried the in-camera focus stacking feature... I knew it was buried in the menus somewhere but then I forgot all about it.
These photos were all taken with an Olympus E-M1 Mk II and 60 mm f/2.8 macro lens.
Each photo was shot at 60mm, f/2.8, ISO 200 (the shutter speed varied). In each case eight photos were combined in-camera to produce the final image. Some additional processing was done in Lightroom, mostly cropping and just a little sharpening.
I've always loved macro photography but I had become discouraged with my results lately. Understanding that my camera has this built-in feature has opened up new doors for me. Thanks for the inspiration, Brian!
