Visiting the Zoo again
Hello hivers.
Without meaning to ser repetitive, today I want to share the second visit we made to the Barararida Botanical Zoo in the city of Barquisimeto, Lara State, Venezuela.
In the first post, I said that I would be sharing the experience of this second visit and here I tell you about it.
Before I continue, I want to thank those who took the time to read and comment on the first Post related to the Park, I appreciate your time and opinion, my sincere gratitude.
This time, apart from making the complete tour, we had another motivation, to donate "Araguaney Trees, our National Tree", an initiative of my mother-in-law Migdalia, who is passionate about plants and for several years had more than 20 plants, which she was donating little by little to people who would take good care of them.
She had 15 plants left and decided to donate them to the Barararida Zoo and Botanical Park, so, after agreeing on the delivery with the staff of the park, we planned a second trip.
When the day arrived, the plants were well ordered and secured in the trunk of the car and we set off.
When we arrived, Mr. Jorge Vargas, received us and gave us a tour of the Vivero explaining his work in this park. There they have a very interesting variety of species, as well as seedbeds and preparation of compost for internal use and for sale.
Mr. Jorge took on the commitment to plant the Araguaney trees in the same space so that when they bloom they will be attractive and showy.
This day, we started the tour of the places we did not see the previous time, so we saw 2 Frontino Bears, a small one barely peeked out and a bigger one that looked stressed.
Then we got 2 crocodiles motionless on the ground.
Nearby were some small Capuchin monkeys surrounded by a pond, it gives the impression that they are free as they do not have a small cage, in this space they entertain themselves playing with the water, walking around and also waiting for people to throw them food scraps.
In this pond you can also see turtles or tortoises on the shore waiting for a little food from visitors.
Next, we found the bird area, there you can see several cages with different species such as the tucan or piapoco, several species of parrots, guacharaca, parakeets calzoncito, characaro maracana, tilingo cuellinegro, cranes, but the one that caught my attention was the majestic Andean Condor, a bird of great size that we are privileged to preserve in our Venezuelan Andes. here in the park there are several specimens.
We continued our hike and came across 2 llamas and then a somewhat stressed an anteater.
Very close by was a royal turkey and some goats, however they could not be seen very well, as they were inside a small corral.
As we continued on, we could see the Ruffed-crested Curassow, a very pretty bird, as well as the Stone-crested Curassow and the Red Macaw.
After noon, we chose our place to have a snack, exchange views, listen to Amanda's excited voice, her impressive vision of the world and observe the big trees that provided us with shade.
We continued our tour.
This time we saw horses and big buffaloes, and also a bear bighorn sheep that came to the shore to "greet us", following Amanda's call and greetings, hehehehehehehe.
On this visit, we were able to enter "La Granja de Pancho" where they have ** 1 pony, 1 donkey, 2 pigs, ducks, 1 small goat, 1 capybara and other small rodents**.
When we leave this area we walk to the shore of the lake people enjoy the boat rides, in this sector there is also a zip line, jumping rope and other games for children and teenagers.
Also, we met the Bengal tiger, the jaguar, the puma and the lion. We stopped again to see the zebra and spent some time contemplating the hippos circling and shaking in their pond.
This day, the park was very crowded, especially with children expressing their amazement and curiosity for the animals.
These activities strengthen us as a family, take us out of our routines and make us thankful for having each other.
It awakens children's curiosity, motivates them to learn new things, memorize names of animals and plants, stimulates their multiple intelligence, sense of sharing and respect for all living beings in a fun way.
No matter the day, the time, the reason, let's just go for a walk and contemplate the world!!!!
Once again thank you for your time.
