From the work that I have done previously I have been leaving strips of fabric, which would serve me only to do very small jobs. And I've been thinking about what I could do to use them little by little and there is something I've wanted to work on but I don't have the materials.
And I said to myself: What if I do it with strips of fabric?
The quilling technique or paper filigree is a work that I have seen that looks very good, it is usually done with paper or cardboard, but in this case, I wanted to do it with fabric and the truth is that it also looks good. So I want to show you how to make a decorative picture with this technique and here I explain the step by step.
As you can see in the pictures they are small strips, so I will take strips of 5 mm wide and the length that gives me the fabric. I did the same procedure with different strips in all the colors I have.
Once I have cut out all the fabrics, I proceed to roll them up as shown in the picture. After rolling it up completely, with the help of the needle, I made a few stitches to secure the winding so that it won't come loose.
I rolled the fabrics according to the length I was given, so some rolls will be small and others large, and that's the idea, to have rolls of different sizes.
On the sheet I will make a sketch of a woman with a wide dress, that is what I will use to guide me, I will cut it out and then take the top part in black fabric, as shown in the image.
I will cut the cardboard according to the size of the sketch I made on the sheet.
With the white fabric I will line the cardboard, as shown in the image. I will stretch it very well so that there are no wrinkles.
I will sew the black fabric cutout of the woman to the picture as you can see in the image. I will stitch all around the figure so that it is well fixed and will not lift.
With all the rolls ready, I cut out the yellow fabric that will be the woman's blouse and joined 6 small rolls in red, which I will sew on the edge of the blouse.
To start making what will be the skirt, I will sew three small white rolls at the waist and then I will place the rest of the rolls.
I sewed the rolls together a little at a time, playing a little with the colors and sizes. I sewed the larger rolls at the bottom of the skirt to guide me as to how far the length would go and then continued to fill in, until there were no empty spaces.
With the help of the needle and the white thread, I will make what will be the woman's bow, I will make some stitches to simulate the rubber band that holds the bow and I will place some beads to decorate it.
I will cut out some triangles in black fabric and sew them on the corners, just to decorate and simulate the frame of the picture.
And now I have my painting ready to hang in any area to decorate.

Hola mis queridos lectores, espero que se encuentren bien y que tengan o hayan tenido un excelente y maravilloso día.
De los trabajos que he realizado anteriormente me han ido quedando tiras de telas, que me servirían solo para hacer trabajos muy pequeños. Y he estado pensando que podría hacer para ir usándolos poco a poco y hay algo en lo que he querido trabajar pero no tengo los materiales.
Y me dije: ¿Qué tal si lo hago con tiras de tela?
La técnica quilling o filigrana de papel es un trabajo que he visto que queda muy bien, normalmente se hace con papeles o con cartulina, pero en este caso, quise hacerlo con tela y la verdad es que también queda bien. Así que quiero mostrarles como realice un cuadro decorativo con esta técnica y aquí les explico el paso a paso.
Como pueden ver en las imágenes son tiras pequeñas, asi que sacare tiras de 5 mm de ancho y el largo que me da la tela. Hice el mismo procedimiento con tiras de diferentes en todos los colores que tengo.
Una vez que ya he recortado todas las telas, procedo a enrollarlas tal como se muestra en la imagen. Después de enrollarla completa, con la ayuda de la aguja, hice unas puntadas para asegurar el enrollado y no se me vaya a soltar.
Enrolle las telas según el largo que me diera, así que van a salir unos rollos pequeños y otros grandes y esa es la idea, tener los rollos de diferentes tamaños.
En la hoja haré un bosquejo de una mujer con un vestido ancho, eso es lo que usare para guiarme, lo recortaré y luego sacare la parte de arriba en tela negra, tal como se ve en la imagen.
Recortarè el cartón según el tamaño del bosquejo que realice en la hoja.
Con la tela blanca forraré el cartón,tal como se muestra en la imagen. La estirare muy bien para que no me queden arrugas.
El recorte que hice en tela negra de la mujer, la coseré al cuadro como pueden apreciar en la imagen. Hare puntadas por todo el alrededor de la figura para que quede bien fija y no se vaya a levantar.
Ya con todos los rollo listos, recorte en tela amarilla lo que sera la blusa de la mujer y uní 6 rollos pequeños en color rojo, que coseré en el borde de la blusa.
Para empezar a realizar lo que sera la falda, coseré unos tres rollos pequeños en color blanco, en la cintura e ire colocando después los demás rollos.
Fui cosiendo poco todos los rollos, jugando un poco con los colores y los tamaños. Cosí los rollos más grandes en la parte de abajo de la falda para guiarme hasta dónde llegaría el largo y luego continúe rellenando, hasta no dejar espacios vacios.
Con la ayuda de la aguja y el hilo blanco, hare lo que sera el moño de la mujer, hare unas puntadas para simular la goma que agarra el moño y le coloque unas cuentas para decorar.
Recortaré unos triángulos en tela negra y los coseré en las esquinas, solo para decorar y simular el marco del cuadro.
Y ya tengo mi cuadro listo para colgarlo en cualquier área a decorar.
