Heroic Jesus

Our failure to fully understand the concept of loving, giving and Forgiving makes so many see Christ as just another Hero who like Romeo was willing to give up his life for what he was convinced about. So many see his act as something worthy of celebration. This is good but the celebration is not what would make the world a better place...what would actually make the world better is not only the celebration but also the practicality and emulation of the act of Loving, Giving and Forgiving as exemplified by Christ.
It is further disheartening that even so called Christians constitute the majority on the long list of celebrators. What many don't understand is when we celebrate his act and not emulate them what we are doing is trying to put on Christ the garment of a hero. Christ is not a Hero! He is God, the Lover and Saviour of the World.
He is love personified. He has laid an example, a path in which all are expected to tread.
Dear reader, I know you must have heard this if not verbatim at least something very close or similar but the fact remains it is not always about hearing but doing. For it is in doing that we can make the world a better place not just for ourselves but also for everyone. It is however, important that I emphasize that betterment begins with you! Yes... you reading this post. Henceforth take a conscious step towards doing the following: Love, Give and Forgive... preach with emphasis on doing to others and like it's being said: the journey of a thousand miles begins with a step... you take that step today, and help a friend, brother, colleague take that step tomorrow... Brick upon brick we would propagate and actualize the 'better' and 'perfection' in the definition of LOVE.
