Love is a beautiful thing and it can be said that he that finds love has found a good thing. Good? Maybe the word good is an understatement maybe great is the right word. But then I ask; what is the difference between 'good and great'? Something good is something fair and that which is fair can be said to be rare. In simple terms when a thing is good it means it is okay and fit for use. However, when something is said to be great it means it is beyond good. In simple terms we can say it is better.
So permit me to say that love is a very good thing and he that finds love has found a better thing. But again we ask: if something is better isn't it supposed to be close to being perfect? If love is better why does it make many run helter skelter? If love is perfect why then does it constitute pain, anguish, lamentations, regrets and likes? the question is Why?
Someone once said: all we need to make the world a better place is love.... really? I said with a cynical expression. If love is the route to perfection why then is there so much commotion even after Christ's death for humanity. Why do people say I love you and do the opposite of what they confess? Why do married people file for a divorce? Why do either party gets hurt in a relationship? Oh now I am beginning to think that Jesus is just another Romeo who died as a result of his inability to understand the situation that surrounds Juliet's disguised death. If he, Christ be Romeo then we humans must be Juliets.
Oh poor Jesus...he was so much in love that he enthusiastically gave himself without a second thought about his actions. Now I think I know why it's been said that love makes you do things you never once thought possible. Oh, what a tragedy! For like Romeo he became a victim in his own movie. He gave his life not minding whether Juliets (humans) would love him in return, he did what he did not for what he wanted but for what he was convinced was right to set the path to perfection. Rejection wasn't in his thought. He loved totally, selflessly, unrepentantly, continuously and even posthumously.
Oh, now I understand what makes love GREAT. It is 'Giving and Forgiving'. Christ gave and gives, forgave and still forgives. This he does unconditionally and wholeheartedly.
So, now I understand when it's said that, LOVE is all we need to make the world a better place. Truly love is all we need. And if the world is the way it is now, it is because we (humans) have not given ourselves to love. We are yet to fully subscribe to the path that births perfection. We are yet to give and forgive wholeheartedly and unconditionally.
