This past week we got our boat and I got to go fishing a lot out on the flats! I think this past week I caught more fish than I ever have. Yesterday morning my sister and I went out to a little area near our beach house called Dog Island Reef at about 6:30 AM. As soon as we got out there the bite was instant, we started catching fish right away. With in the first ten minutes of fishing my sister had landed a blue fish on a top water plug, and I had caught two black sea bass, and a lady fish. We were supposed to stop fishing at 9:30 to make it in and to church by 10:00, but from 9:20 to 9:30 we caught 3 trout, and decided to stay!
At that point in the morning we had caught about 15 fish and had 3 keepers in the boat. We ended up staying out until right before noon, and ended up catching around 25-30 fish, not including the about 10 that broke off either right at the boat or right after the hit the bait. We also both caught at least one new fish that we hadn't caught before. We saw some great wild life as well, seeing sea turtles, dolphins and more!
In total on the week we caught over 50 fish and had 8 keepers! That picture is my youngest sister with her first keeper trout!
