Ugh. People are always wasting their freaking time! They don't even see it as valuable. People are always shocked by how I think Because I weigh the time And financial cost of something.
Ultimately if I see an unreasonable hit to my time, I won't do it.
Even if financially it isn't expensive.
Go to a hospital and watch people.
Watch how long it takes them to pull their phone out and began playing on it.
Part of wasting time is just not being able to handle being idle. We often assume we are more productive that way. But there are a lot of benefits to just sitting still and allowing your mind to wander.
It's one thing if you are productive on your phone. And with apps these days, It's pretty easy. But still, Being idle once in a while is good for you!
One thing I've gotten in my head, Is when I hit a high level of exhaustion. It's time to go to bed.
No, Forcing myself to keep working, Won't get more done. Because the sooner I get that sleep, The sooner I can wake up with the maximum brain power to get stuff done.
Society seems to admire those "exhausted" people dying at their desks. But studies have proven that these people aren't as productive.
When you work exhausted, you can't work as fast or as good.
Again it aligns with being idle. I was reading about something that said that whenever we get distracted, we lose 30 minutes of our time, To become fully focused again. That adds up way fast!
Especially when you are overwhelmed. Prioritizing can give you a clear-cut game plan on where to go next with your to-do list. I find myself often procrastinating because I'm not sure what to do next with my time. When I have a list, it makes things much easier. It's funny that we procrastinate when we have so much to do in general.
This is why it's important to decide what is most important to you because you can't always expect to accomplish everything in just one 24 hour period.
