We meet people of different classes and professions every day for different jobs. Sometimes we treat people in a way that is not desirable. Most of the time, we don't respect those who are in the lower class. Rather, we despise them. Again there are some people especially those who are in a better position than us. They need to be respected as much! We respect them more than that.

আমরা প্রতিদিন বিভিন্ন কাজের জন্য বিভিন্ন শ্রেণী-পেশার মানুষের সাথে মিলিত হই। মাঝেমধ্যে আমরা মানুষের সাথে এমন আচরণ করি যেটা কাম্য নয়। সবচেয়ে বেশি দেখা যায় যারা নিম্ন শ্রেণি পেশার মানুষ তাদেরকে আমরা বিন্দু পরিমান সম্মান বোধ করিনা। বরঞ্চ আমরা তাদেরকে হেয় প্রতিপন্ন করে থাকি। আবার কিছু লোক আছে বিশেষ করে যারা আমাদের চেয়ে ভাল অবস্থানে আছে। তাদেরকে যতটুকু সম্মান দেয়া দরকার! আমরা তাদেরকে তার চেয়েও বেশি সম্মান দেই।

I am not opposed to giving respect to anyone. Rather, we are going to respect people of all classes and professions. One thing we should not forget is that if we give respect to someone, we will get that respect back. So respect should be at all levels, not at the individual level.

আমি কাউকে সম্মান দেয়ার বিরুদ্ধে বিরোধিতা করছি না। বরং যাচ্ছি আমরা যেন সকল শ্রেণী-পেশার মানুষকে সম্মান করি। আমাদের একটা কথা ভুলে গেলে চলবে না, আমরা যদি কাউকে সম্মান দেই, তাহলে আমরা সেই সম্মান আবার ফেরত পাব। তাই সম্মানবোধ ব্যক্তি পর্যায়ে না হয়ে, সর্ব পর্যায়ে হওয়া উচিত।
