I don't know who I am, and I'm not going to wait to find out.

I've spent a large portion of my life thinking, head in the clouds, able to hold the future in plain sight, while the present remains in a shroud of uncertainty. I'm no stranger to this disease, something that I actually find comfort in, dreaming about the dream, rather than actively pursuing it.

I've made this promise to myself on numerous occasions, but this time I feel as though I can follow through, not in pursuit of an audience or applause, rather to catalog my life in pursuit of the dream. The only problem is that I'm only 18. I don't know what the right moves are in order to get me where I want to be.

I can't even remember what I had for breakfast this morning.

What I do know is that I have a pretty solid foundation for achieving my goals. I am VERY interested in video and music production. I've always wanted to create a short film (more on my first attempt later), and an album, and throw a release party for when it comes out.

Thinking in macro is fantastic, stepping back at the finished puzzle is satisfying as fuck, but it's the pieces that bring it all together. During my senior year of high school, my Environmental Science teacher said something I'll never forget. Actually, he said a LOT of things I'll never forget, but more on him later, ha.

He said to stop focusing on the outcome and start focusing on the process. He told our class that the moment you switch from looking at the big picture to all of the bits and pieces that make it up, that's when you start winning. That's when the desired outcome can be achieved.

That's what this blog is for. Something that has always fascinated me is the way people act the way they do, and what motivates them to act that way. Learning what makes people happy, sad, or pissed off is what intrigues me about other people. When we interact with other people, we only ever see the finished product. All the moves they made up until the point in which you decide to interact with them is the only thing we see. Everything else behind that interaction, the process of what made the interaction, is in the dark.

That's what this blog is for.

I want to catalog my experiences here, as a sort of case study, showing what makes me who I am. My film career, my music career, and everything else, all contained (somewhat) within this blog.Like I said before, I don't know who I am yet. But maybe we can find out somewhere along the way.
