Hola mis querid@s needleworkers, espero se encuentren bien disfrutando de su semana, usando esas varitas mágicas que son nuestras agujas para crear, para tejer, coser y bordar sus sueños. En esta oportunidad me alegra hacer este post para compartir con ustedes un poco de mi evolución como crochetera.

Hello my dear needleworkers, I hope you are well enjoying your week, using those magic wands that are our needles to create, knit, sew and embroider your dreams. This time I am happy to make this post to share with you a bit of my evolution as a crocheter.

Les comento que siempre me ha gustado la moda, aunque debo confesar que mi vestuario no se rige por la moda, más bien opto por lo cómodo y lo clásico. Por eso cuando hablo de moda, me refiero a diseño, siempre me gustó hacer dibujos de vestidos, trajes, faldas y todo lo referente a moda femenina.
Me fascina el mundo de las telas, sus colores, texturas, estampados, encajes, bordados, en fin, todo lo que rodea al diseño de modas.

I tell you that I have always liked fashion, although I must confess that my wardrobe is not governed by fashion, rather I opt for the comfortable and the classic. That's why when I talk about fashion, I mean design, I always liked to draw pictures of dresses, suits, skirts and everything related to women's fashion. I am fascinated by the world of fabrics, their colors, textures, prints, lace, embroidery, in short, everything that surrounds fashion design.

No obstante, mi experiencia con la costura ha sido todo un desastre 🙈. Y créanme que lo he intentado varias veces, hasta compré mi propia máquina de coser y todos los materiales necesarios para iniciar en ese mundo, pero la emoción se me pasó al coser mis primeras blusas, estas no eran para nada de alta costura. No tengo mayores problemas para sacar un patrón y cortar la tela, el asunto es la costura, la máquina y yo no nos llevamos bien, ella es muy terca ja ja.

However, my experience with sewing has been a disaster 🙈. And believe me, I have tried several times, I even bought my own sewing machine and all the necessary materials to start in that world, but the excitement left me when I sewed my first blouses, these were not haute couture at all. I have no major problems to draw a pattern and cut the fabric, the issue is sewing, the machine and I do not get along, she is very stubborn ha ha.

Pero la ventaja es que mi madre ama coser, ella realmente le encanta hacer vestidos para niñas y Dios la bendijo con muchas nietas quienes se encargan de modelar sus creaciones. Entonces lo que yo hacía era diseñar los vestidos de mi hija para cada fiesta, o evento del colegio, escoger las telas y hasta participar en el corte, pero bien lejos de la máquina. El ultimo vestido en el que trabajamos juntas fue el traje de Primera Comunión para mi hija, humildemente quedó realmente hermoso.

But the advantage is that my mother loves to sew, she really loves making dresses for girls and God blessed her with many granddaughters who are in charge of modeling her creations. So what I did was design my daughter's dresses for each party, or school event, choose the fabrics and even participate in the cut, but well away from the machine. The last dress we worked on together was the First Communion dress for my daughter, humbly it was really beautiful.

Por otro lado, en mi camino con el crochet he pasado por muchas etapas; primero los tapetes, las carteras, los gorros, los muñecos entre otras cosas. Pero lo que siempre, siempre, desde que me puedo recordar con una aguja en la mano, he querido hacer es tejer ropa de mujer, ese mi sueño crochetero.

On the other hand, on my way with crochet I have gone through many stages; first the rugs, purses, hats, dolls among other things. But what I have always, always, since I can remember with a needle in my hand, I have wanted to do is knit women's clothing, that is my crocheter dream.

He ido aprendiendo poco a poco con proyectos sencillos, con patrones básicos y fáciles de tejer, viendo tutoriales y practicando mucho. Sin embargo a cada patrón le agrego un toque personal, me gusta jugar con las puntadas, rara vez uso la misma puntada del tutorial.

I have been learning little by little with simple projects, with basic and easy patterns to knit, watching tutorials and practicing a lot. However, I add a personal touch to each pattern, I like to play with the stitches, I rarely use the same stitch from the tutorial.

Como ya lo he comentado antes el crochet para mi es magia y lo que más me hace ilusión es algún día poder tejerle un vestido a mi hija, aunque ella ya tiene 14 años y es más alta que yo, esa idea aún sigue fija en mi mente, quiero que así como ella atesora los vestidos que le ha hecho su abuela con tanto amor, también pueda atesorar un vestido tejido por su Hada Madrina Favorita, osea yo, ja ja.

As I have already mentioned before, crochet is magic for me and what makes me most excited is one day being able to knit a dress for my daughter, although she is already 14 years old and taller than me, that idea is still fixed in me. Mind you, I want that just as she treasures the dresses that her grandmother has made for her with so much love, she can also treasure a dress woven by her Favorite Fairy Godmother, I mean, ha ha.
